Abraham JDSN spoke this past Sunday about 4 loud voices we commonly tune into. The voices include: Satan, circumstances, self, subconscious. He urged us to listen for the still small voice of God (Elijah), which is soft because it is a voice of mercy, not a loud voice of judgment.

This past Sunday, Brother Ray talked about the 3 components of the calling of all believers: 1) freedom to consider the call, 2) empowerment for the call and 3) the promise of God’s presence as we obey the call.  It ended with some prophetic words from A.W. Tozer who challenged believers to move out of the realm of the mind into concrete obedience.

Pastor Daniel spoke about God being personal and therefore we should seek Him.  Ever since modernism and Enlightenment, a heavy emphasis was placed on the mind and intellect.  That is why apologetics was big a few decades ago because it was important to defend the faith and persuade people with rational arguments.  This shift caused a diminishing sense that God is personal. Instead of seeing God as personal, we think of Christian life as a system of beliefs that we need to accept mentally.
