Congratulations to Pastor Ray

Our brother Ray was ordained by the church this past Sunday, 2/6, at 11am during a special ordination service. The service was a celebration of the Lord’s call in Ray’s life to ministry, a call that has stood for the past 18 years.

The week prior to the service, Pastor Ray and the elders attended a pastoral retreat in Minneapolis, MN, titled “The Powerful Life of the Praying Pastor“, and were greatly refreshed and encouraged in the Spirit.

We are incredibly grateful to God for His surpassing love and grace to P. Ray and our church. Our prayer is that we can persevere in pointing people to Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Praise the Lord!

Thanksgiving Sunday, 11/21

Please join us this Sunday at 11am for our special Thanksgiving service. The service will be followed by a delicious Thanksgiving lunch with turkey and all the trimmings. Please come hungry!

Also, for those who will be around on Thanksgiving day (11/25), you are invited to Ray’s house at 3pm to hang out and have an early Thanksgiving dinner. If you are a talented chef (or not), you are welcome to bring food over for all to share. If you are interested in coming for the Thanksgiving day dinner, please email info@life-baptist.org.

Retreat on Oct 8-10

Please join us for our annual retreat led by Pastor Don Overstreet and his son, Pastor Kirk Overstreet on Oct. 8-10.

Here is what you need to bring:

- Bible and journal/notebook
- Comfortable clothes
- Warm jacket (for cool evenings)
- Personal toiletries and towel
- Flashlight
- Sleeping bag

Memorial Day Picnic

This coming Monday is Memorial Day so you are welcome to join us for a picnic in Culver City. Even caltech students deserve a day off… 9am if you want to play softball and 11am will be the official start time. If you’d like to attend, please let Ray know asap.

Amazing (G)Race – Weekend Rally

Starting this Saturday (5/22), we will be hosting an evangelistic rally entitled “Amazing (G)Race.” As you can guess from the title, the theme is going to be related to the Amazing Race TV show. The speaker, John Suh, will be comparing God’s race with the rat race of this world. This is a two-day rally so the second message will be held during our normal Sunday worship service at 11am (5/23).

NO Service in Pasadena This Sunday – Combined Sunday Service in West Los Angeles

Due to Easter, Life Baptist Church of Pasadena will be combining with LBC in West LA for worship service at 4pm (Easter Sunday). So there will be NO service at 11am in Pasadena this coming Sunday.
